<p>Arthur Martin Janis “Catka” was born on September 6, 1958 in Pine Ridge Sd to James H. Janis and Merrietta Joan (Thompson) Janis. Arthur made his journey to the Spirit World on April 1, 2024 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.</p><p><br></p><p>Arthur is survived by his daughter, Alisa Watson; grandchildren, Shalene Red Bird, Artemasa Wounded Head, and Reuben Wounded Head III; great grandchildren, Roman Roybal, Ila Roybal, Aviana Roybal, Aurora Miller, Deimos Wounded Head, Rosalani Wounded Head, Alyana Wounded Head, Alyzar Wounded Head, and Layne Wounded Head; siblings, James W. Janis, Keith Janis, Esther Erikson, Darwin J. Janis, Stanley T. Janis, Cora Chapman, Lamont David Janis, Arlene Francis Broken Rope, and Maxine Joan Broken Rope; uncle, Thomas Janis; aunt, Esther Trullinger; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Janis and Merrietta Joan (Thompson) Janis; brother, Christopher Michael Janis and Jeffrey Lynn Janis; paternal grandparents, Edward and Ellen (Rouse) Janis; maternal grandparents, Merle & Cora (Traversie) Thompson; spouse, Kathy M.
